About the Role

Ensure availability, performance, and security of PostgreSQL powering AMOM’s media pipelines. You’ll own backup/restore, HA/replication, schema reviews, and observability—scaling reliably for enterprise workloads. Compensation is annualized and pro-rated for part-time.

Responsibilities

Operate and tune Postgres clusters for latency, throughput, and cost efficiency
Implement robust backup/restore, retention, and DR plans with regular testing
Partner with engineers on schema design, migrations, and capacity planning
Build monitoring/alerting; define SLOs and incident response playbooks
Contribute to data governance, access controls, and compliance documentation

Requirements

4+ years administering PostgreSQL in production (performance & reliability)
Expertise with indexing, partitioning, VACUUM/ANALYZE, and query tuning
HA/replication, backup/restore strategy, and disaster recovery drills
Security hardening, auditing, and compliance-minded data stewardship
Bonus: cloud object storage, time-series data, IaC, Prometheus/Grafana
